This 1964 Pro-Street Corvette drag car received a full custom paint job. The body was a brand new raw glass body with a new tube chassis.
The body was blocked sanded, straightened and primed, then the tube chassis and parts were prepped and painted in a custom purple pearl and clear coated.
After the body received its final sanding, the interior was masked and a yellow section was sprayed around the mid-section of the car and the yellow striping design was laid out. Next the top side of the yellow strip was masked and the bottom was sprayed with the purple pearl. From there, The bottom purple was now covered and the top was sprayed in a custom flip/flop mix of BASF Extreme base coat color.
Lastly, I laid out and shot a checker flag pattern down the side and hood using, red, orange, gray metallic, silver metallic, black, white, and tinted body color to create the faded flag effect.
All the base coat colors were then clear coated and left to dry. After dry the entire body was sanded again and re-cleared for a glass like shine!
Time Well Spent if you ask me!!!!
