1950 Ford
The Owner of this 1950 Ford Covertible me about designing him a color sceam. He and his freind and owner of a local collision shop had been getting it ready for paint. But before you knew it was here for completion.

The body was still in need of some straightening and there was still fab work to be done. When those steps were finished up it was on to paint and graphics.

A Kandy Brandy Wine was picked for the main color and I mixed up custom transpartent pearls to match the sceam.
The body was prepped and primed then all the parts were cut in. After assembled, I sprayed the base/Kandy on the body and began the flame lay out. When the flames were masked for paint I mixed 5 shades of pearls and faded them into place.
When all was done the clear coat was applied and the Project was final assembled.

The effect is a subtile flame which is effect by light. The brighter the light the stronger the flames stand out. The first time out it took best custom at the "Shades of the Past" car show. He racked up throphies all summer long until someone made him and offer he could refuse and it went to a new owner.

I did see it a while later for some more work shown below.

Here some lake pipes and spots were added for the new owner and I am completing the body work, priming, and paint.
The lower flame areas at the rocker / lake pipes are being blended together and fresh clear is sprayed on to finish it up.
